I’m sure we all know what lift off oversteer is and it’s a trait that many hot hatchbacks have, the 205 GTI is often held up as the king of lift off oversteer and both cars in my current fleet have quite lively rear ends when provoked.  Some people regard this as good thing, others less so, but at the right time and in the right place, oversteer in a FWD hatch is fun, so welcome to liftoffoversteer, a blog about the enjoyment of hot hatches and a variety of wider automotive content.

For years I read the usual car websites and magazines but became disillusioned with the focus on expensive cars that were far beyond what I could afford.  Then, early in 2012 I finally joined Twitter and immediately began to discover some fantastic blogs where passionate car enthusiasts write about interesting but affordable cars.  Reading these blogs has finally spurred me into action and led to the establishment of liftoffoversteer where I’m going to air my opinions about  new cars, old cars, racing, and my own experiences.  Whilst hot hatchbakcs remain my first love, my passion for cars has expanded greatly in recent years and in this blog I’ll be covering everything from modern city cars, to classic performance cars.
